Visibility vs. Ability: Using Brand Awareness Videos

Updated: 2 days ago

(by Braden Barty)

CAN YOU THINK OF ONE OF YOUR COMPETITORS who is very successful even though they aren't nearly as experienced or skilled as you? The one that leaves you scratching your head about why they are on top and you are not? I'm going to tell you why, and I will reveal the harsh reality about branding and marketing and the truth about why inferior products and services often end up as the market leaders.

When it comes to increasing website traffic, size matters. The more visible you are, the more you win. It doesn't matter if you're more skilled or have more talent. The most visible brands are those who have opportunities come their way while invisible brands do not.

People get paid for who they are more than for what they do. We see this happen with celebrities every day. The Kardashian don't get paid to attend events because they’re riveting conversationalist. They get paid to attend events because of their name recognition. People don't always choose the most deserving person or company to work with. Business is a popularity contest.

Now, by no means am I saying that you can have a bad product or service as long as your website is getting lots of traffic. That is a surefire way to make sure your website is known for all of the wrong reasons. You will never get any repeat business or referrals if you can't deliver on the goods. You still have to have the ability.

Website visibility gets people in the door, but your ability keeps them there.

Most people fall into a trap that I call the Field of Dreams approach to marketing. They believe that if they build it, they will come. If you think this way, I've got terrible news for you. No one is coming for your product or service. No one is going out of their way to discover you. Just because you have a product to sell doesn't mean anyone will buy it

Having a great product or service isn't going to be enough. If no one knows you exist, the best product in the world isn't going to save you.

It's estimated that 1 to 5 percent of people who come in contact with a website will become clients. Are you coming in contact with enough people?

If you're not going to create visibility for your brand, you had better hope you have a ginormous marketing budget to start buying people's attention. Pepsi can afford to blow money on Super Bowl videos. Most brands cannot, especially small brands and start ups.

Having a video marketing budget doesn't guarantee success. Most companies that have video production budgets are by no means remarkable. There is nothing exciting or unique about what they do, which is one reason why they need video production marketing budget to push their message onto the marketplace. This creates a huge opportunity for you to increase website conversions and be a company brand that is unique and worth talking about, a brand that people can really get behind.

Perception is reality. The more you increase visitors to your website with a good YouTube channel and videos the more people want what your company is offering. I

The more visible your brand, the more sales you make. Increased visibility equals increased credibility. People have more trust in a brand they are familiar with.

Visibility with brand awareness videos has changed branding. Scratch that. Visibility with YouTube videos has killed traditional branding. Traditional branding didn't just change, it actually died, but there was no funeral for it and the world didn't care enough about it to make any arrests. In fact, a number of people may even have celebrated.

The idea that a brand's visibility is built with billboards and fancy logos no longer makes sense. YouTube is one of the largest brands in the world, and they have spent relatively little money on traditional “branding” methods such as advertising.

Keep in mind that you don't need to be found everywhere, as traditional branding would suggest. You just want to be found everywhere within your niche, everywhere your audience is hanging out.

YouTube Visibility is all about being consistent. You must be active and be “out there” every single day. You want to maintain your YouTube visibility and momentum. There's no time to slow down.

Now that you know the importance of focusing on visibility using tools such as short videos ads and commercials, in my next blog we are going to dive into all of the ways to grow your brand into a powerhouse using video. A brand that people can relate to, trust, and talk about.
